Coastal Recruiting - Weekly Engineering Spotlight, Feb 9

Happy Friday! Welcome to Coastal Recruiting’s weekly candidate spotlight. Reminding everyone we work with a healthy mix of experienced Full-Stack, Front-End, Applied AI/ML, Back-End, PM, and Smart Contract candidates – all have a blend of big tech + 0-1 experience, looking for their next role. 

This week’s spotlight includes a Kaggle Grandmaster, Director @ Activision (Call of Duty), core contributor to Uniswap V2, a previous YC Founder, and Kalshi Founding Eng.

Sr Applied AI/ML Engineer

• Applied ML Engineer III @ Snorkel AI, Kaggle Grandmaster, Won Code Gladiators (India’s largest coding competition)  

• At Snorkel AI, he directly drives revenue growth by crafting specialized GPT/LLM models for  the enterprise

• Prev AI experience at DataRobot Inc., Société Générale, and H2O.ai

• Deep industry experience in the US Financial / Banking ecosystem and healthcare industry - advising on ethical AI and Gen AI 

Sr Game Director / Product Manager 

• Director of Product Management @ Activision Blizzard, leading mobile and console user retention for Call of Duty

• 20+ years of product led growth across gaming and consumer applications - focused on personalization, monetization and retention

• Operated multiple nodes over 4 years for the GALA Games blockchain, and contributed to several key votes on governance matters

Sr Smart Contract / Web3 Engineer 

• Currently Head of Blockchain; building tetu.io Yield farming platform on Polygon (reached 67 mil TVL in 2023). 

• Responsible for building strategies for Balancer, UniswapV2, AAVE, Compound, and others. Also, he built various sub-graphs, dune analytics dashboards, gelato tasks, and OpenZeppelin defender autotasks.

• As a hobby project, he’s built several liquidators for the TON-based projects (EVVA), and rebalancers for the balancer composable pools with asset managers).

Fintech / Crypto Trading Engineer:

• Current SWE @ Citadel, with previous experience @ Kalshi (extremely high hiring bar)

• At Citadel, he’s building their electron trading application and while at Kalshi, he was an early engineer that developed their trading portal and public site. He also architected a custom multi-layer WS protocol for real-time trading data transfer 

• He joined Kalshi when they were a seed startup and wants to get back into the digital asset + 0-1 building environment

Sr Infrastructure Engineer 

• 9+ years engineering experience @ SnapChat, Facebook, One Concern (joined during Series A), DiDi, Google Cloud, and Apple (Maps Team) 

• Most recently a hands-on technical lead at SnapChat building infrastructure for content posting & processing while also having ownership over platform developer experience

• After joining OneConcern as ML Lead (built infrastructure between Applied ML and Product environments), he’s keen to re-join a AI/ML startup - wants to get back to building

Sr Full-Stack Engineer

• She was class valedictorian @ Dartmouth, started her own YC company, prev SWE @ Meta and Stripe

• Currently Sr SWE @ Anima overseeing US engineering efforts for a UK-based startup

• Full-stack her entire career, most proficient in TypeScript

• Wants to join a seed-stage startup; being part of a foundational team going 0-1
